Dr. Richard Townley, M.D.
Dr. Townley completed his residency in pediatrics at Butterworth Hospital (now Spectrum Hospital) before his fellowship in allergy and clinical immunology at Henry Ford Hospital.
Dr. Miller completed his residency in internal medicine at the University of Michigan before his fellowship in allergy and clinical immunology at Northwestern University including time at Children’s Memorial Hospital in Chicago.
Erin Gibson, who joined the practice in 2008, is a graduate of Grand Valley State University with a Master’s degree in Physician Assistant studies. She has seven years experience in allergies and asthma, and is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, the Michigan Academy of Physician Assistants, and the American Academy of Physician Assistants in Allergy, Asthma and Immunology.
Academic Distinction
Dr. Townley and Dr. Miller hold clinical appointments through Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. Besides having medical students and residents rotating through the office, Dr. Miller teaches second year medical students (Applications of Epidemiology and Biostatistics) at the new MSU medical school in
Dr. Townley is a former president of the Michigan Allergy and Asthma Society.
Clinical Excellence
Dr. Townley and Dr. Miller have been recognized for their clinical excellence. Dr. Townley has been selected as a member of “Outstanding Doctors in
Dr. Miller was recently named as “Tops In GR” in his field featured in a 2009 issue of the Grand Rapids Press. He has been asked to lecture nationally and has written articles on a variety of allergy related topics, including high-risk asthma and eosinophilic gastrointestinal disorders.
Staff
Our clinical staff is composed of Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses and Medical Assistants. All are trained in the field of allergy and are cross-trained for the various duties within the office. Other staff members maintain the reception check-in/check-out area as well as scheduling and directing calls to our triage nurse, our billing specialist, and transcriptionist.
